Denise Savage - a mother, a minister and photographer . . . . sometimes all three at once.  Bringing delight, sparking our souls

I live in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales with my family. I fulfil many roles in life including the ones in the blog title. How they all interplay some days can be difficult. Other days I only have to worry about being one. From the experience of life lived, I offer some personal reflections - and resources. Some of what's here is about faith, some about being human, some to keep sanity alive, and some because we all need to hear from someone else.
Previously I've lived in Tasmania, Western Australia, Queensland and even in the Northern Territory.

When the world feels the precipice of uncertainty and choas
Bring your peace.

As we notice life's edges creeping closer
Bring your peace.

When empathetic hearts feel the weight of crying children, and lost mothers
Bring your peace.

As the weapons of war sound their violent rage
Bring your peace.

When we stop to notice and grab a slither of what is beautiful,
May we know your peace.

God where the all seems like it might slip through our fingers
May your peace catch what we miss.

I live on the lands of the Bundjalung Nation.  Their ancestors held sovereignty for many thousands of years.  British settlers took the land away and robbed the people of their culture, connection, customs and country.  I pay my respects to the elders of the past, and those who are the elders today.  I commit to working for justice, to building a better understanding of the painful stories and the impacts known today.  I stand for the lives of all to hold dignity, respect and honour as people created in the image of God - of Creator Spirit.  May we work and walk together as First and Second Peoples.
