The Israelites demanded a King. Like the great nations around them. So came Saul, David, Solomon . . . . . From David's line, came Jesus . . . . God with us. King eternal. Pilate called out to the people - Look at your King! But the people replied with - Kill him! Pilate asked them - You want me to nail your King to a cross? The Emperor is our King! Above Jesus head as he hung on the cross - Jesus of Nazereth, King of the Jews. The Chief Priests questioned Pilate - you should have written He Claimed to be King of the Jews. What was written will not be changed! |

We stopped, we grabbed the moment. We talked about life, we talked about seeds, about growing. We talked about soil, and sunsets. We talked about worshipping God, while staring out a window to the place where we now stood. We talked about talking with God while wandering the open spaces. It was a teachable moment. A moment where we took our children into a sacred space of following Christ in ordinary life.
Be ready to grab those moments - whether they are with grandchildren, children, nieces, nephews, kids in your street, or at the shops while waiting in the lines . . . . . For children - life is the classroom for faith formation. |
