A deer searches through the woodland looking for flowing water. It is longing for it. It knows the capacity of fresh water to sustain, to revitalise, to share life. And so it keeps searching. What do we long for? What are we searching for? Where do we think we will find it? Is it of this world - a thing, a state of being, a place? Is it something about who we are, or the people we are with? Do we long for something more, something less? Do we long for a sense of meaning, purpose, place, power? Is it God we are looking for? How do you know when you will be satisfied, when you have found what you long for? What will you do next? A deer searches through the woodland looking for flowing water . . . it is longing for it . . . . it knows its capacity to sustain, to revitalise, to share life . . . |

In the middle of me it doesn't matter which community of faith I am called to - because there is always, and always will be something of who God is that sparks into the world as a gift for others, as much as myself. The essence of who I am.
So wherever I am, whoever I am with, I will seek to live as God calls me - to share love, to live forgiveness, and bear hope.
I also got thinking and wondering if there were people who I know, that I would want to go to the middle of nowhere, just to be with them. What kind of character do they hold? Who are they within themselves? What is it about them, that I am drawn to be wanting to share space - wherever that space is!?
Who are the people you know that have something who Jesus is in them that you might go to the middle of nowhere, just to keep being with them? |
