It is always a journey to get to the middle. Whatever it is that takes us there, it is the story we carry in that time. A pain, a hurt, a hope, a yearning. Sometimes we notice its weight, its heaviness. Sometimes we just want to carry it. We acknowledge it. The story is known as we carry it to the middle. Then we stand in the middle. A meeting place, a still place, a sacred place. An intersection where we hold out our story to God. |
The invitation to stand in the middle, is an invitation to open our hearts to the deep story within. It is an invitation to empty our hands of what weighs us down, to what blindsides us from who we are truly created to be. The invitation to stand in the middle, is to be just who we are with all of who we are - even if all we have is broken bits of life, or a hope that sifts through our fingers.
Standing in the middle, a meeting place. A still place, a sacred place. An intersection where we hold out our story to God, and God holds out God's story to us.
