However, we hope for something we have not seen, and we patiently wait for it (Romans 8:25) The flower has been and the fruit is yet to begin its first swelling. Yet I hope for the apples. I have faith that they will grow. That there will be a sweetness, a relishing of something fresh, alive and bountiful. But I can't see it yet. |
I hope in God. I can see the presence of God, it is all around me - the intricate workings of nature, of family relationships. Of a deep, intimate love with another human being, all show me the presence and working of God. But I do not necessarily "see" God. Unseen in one way, yet known in another. Hints, clues, markings, signposts. I hope in what is unseen. Source of life, of being, of living, breathing, working and playing. And I wait for the time, when I may see God, face to face. . . . .

There's not a lot that is different when I bump into the challenge of what it is to follow Christ in today's world. I carry something noticeable. But it is nothing if it isn't noticed. And sometimes that means that I am to be out there - OUT THERE . . . . vulnerable and up against some no's. But also bumping into those who are curious, who are carrying a meaning of what it is to be a created human being, living, and loving in this world. Who are like me, making their way in life, linked to others, linked to creation, linked to God - whether we know it or not, whether that's how we name it or not.
This blog only started, because somehow I thought there was something inside that needed to come out. A creative energy that sustained me. And it has touched, encouraged and enlivened others. If I didn't take myself out there . . . . . . |
